I always liked C3 Corvettes, so when early retirement became viable in 2014, my wife Bev and I decided to take the plunge and buy our first Corvette. Not the easiest thing to find in the UK, but with the help of a specialist we obtained a one-owner 1979 car from Florida. Although nice, it was ready for improvement. Over the last few months we have done the following:
· Removed the Air Conditioning and all emission systems
· Added Sharkbite Rear Suspension with Adjustable Strut Rods.
· Added Sharkbite Front Suspension with the most beautiful Top Arms with Steeroids Rack
· Installed Edelbrock Alloy E Street Heads
· Installed High Ratio Roller Rockers
· Installed performer manifold with Holley 650 CFM Carb
· Added Hooker Headers with Side Pipes.
· Added Morroso Water Pump
· Added Three Row Radiator with Electric Fan
· Changed Wheels to Rocket 8 x 15 and 10 x 15
We hope to have the car finished by Easter and then this summer we will enjoy it to the full. Our love affair with this awesome icon of the 1970s continues to grow, albeit eating the dollars, but well worth it. We would not part with our toy for anything!
